Whole school approach to achieving the ICT Mark.
Back
The ICT Mark is an accreditation scheme available to all schools in the UK. It recognises schools achieving a good standard of mature and effective use of technology. Schools which hold the ICT Mark are more likely to be regarded as good or outstanding by Ofsted. Evidence for accreditation can be used to support the self-evaluation process. This course aims to work with ICT managers, SMT and other departments to plan an effective strategy to achieving this coveted award.
Whole school approach to adopting and using Virtual learning environments.
Back
It is a slow and time consuming task to persuade departments that Virtual Learning Environments have value and with time invested will actually reduce the burden on teachers in terms of preparation time, assessment and looking up pupil data. This course is designed to work with departments or individuals responsible for the rollout of the VLE in school. It has been developed to include ideas for all departments and includes bespoke VLE training where appropriate.

Developing ICT provision throughout the school.

ICT development can be a strategic nightmare, with everyone having different views and budgets being targeted at individual areas of need that may be important, but only benefit a few individuals. This course is designed to help improve the decision making process through self evaluation, discussion and analysis of needs.
Implementing and developing Virtual Learning Environments in schools.
Back
With the plethora of options and the lists of benefits for each one running off the end of the brochure, how do you make a decision as to which VLE to go for?
This course starts off with an impartial pros and cons look at all the VLE’s approved by Becta. We look at cost benefits, ease of use and backup to mention but a few of the criteria you will need to consider.
Once the VLE is in place there is the task of populating the environment with resources, encouraging its use for collaboration and communication, importing other data such as timetables and calendars. Our trainer is available to work alongside key staff, train staff, present to students and other stakeholders to integrate the VLE as the hub for electronic resources and communication across the school community.
